Hop To It – Beverages For the Springtime in Vancouver

Time to dust off the garden furniture, put a lick of paint on a Muskoka Chair or two and grab a pair of sunnies. Spring is well and truly here, and summer is on its way.

What better time to refresh and rethink your next craft beer delivery with something lighter, brighter, and altogether more seasonal? It’s time to lighten up, folks! There are many exciting new releases and back-in-stock brews and beverages to tempt your tastebuds.

Here are our recommendations for where to start your spring fling.

For the Beer Lovers:

33 Acres of Sunshine, 5% ABV, 6 pack

This gem tastes as good as it sounds. A blanchè wheat beer reminiscent of the Belgian and French style that goes unfiltered for a spring / summery sundowner to remember. Notes of coriander, aniseed, and orange peel will complement whatever is hitting the grill that day and are guaranteed to be a cookout favourite.

Cerveceria Astilleros Salted Lime Lager, 4.6% ABV, 4 pack

Looking for something resembling a Mexican holiday in a bottle? Couldn’t get away for March Break? This aptly named Salted Lime Lager should offer some solar solace. Elegant, clean, and refreshingly crisp, thanks to Mexican limes and the world-famous salt from El Valle Salado (The Salt Valley) this should fit the bill.

Camp Beer Co. Crimson Crush Cherry Brut Ale, 5.2% ABV, 4 pack

As featured on our Instagram, Camp Beer Company is a new brewery for us! Get ready to get stuck into some of the exciting flavours they offer. For the fruit aficionados among us, this cherry brut ale is crisp and dry, featuring El Dorado hops. Sour cherry juice that is softly sweet yet tart rounds out this champagne beer for a rosier outlook on life.

Luppolo Zest In Show, 5.8% ABV, 4 pack

No need to have an East Coast/West Coast rivalry; Luppolo brings you the best of both worlds! This East Coast-style Citrus IPA is made with West Coast hops for the hippest hop this summer. Zesty orange, grapefruit, and sweeter notes of pineapple and tangerine deliver the sunny vibes.

Four Winds Featherweight IPA, 4.5% ABV, 6 pack

A slightly lighter IPA that keeps it fresh and citrusy. Delicate on the palate and light-bodied, this beer features tropical fruit notes and provides a clean, crisp finish. Utterly delightful as things heat up.

For the Cider Fans:

Twisted Hills Pippin’s Fate – Dry, 7% ABV, 750 ml

Nothing says spring is here like a local cider that we say shouldn’t be missed. A classic dry cider with green apple and citrus notes that finishes with notes of lemon and lime, you’ll be headed for your deck in no time. Get your hands on it before it’s gone!

Cedar Cider Rose Rambler, 7% ABV, 500 ml

Everything is coming up roses when you taste this uniquely floral beverage. This looks fantastic in a pint glass with its rich pink hue thanks to hand-picked wild roses and raspberry juice blended with aged dry cider. Gorgeous to look at, smells divine, and tastes aromatic and refreshing. Put down your gardening gloves and order some of this online with your next Vancouver alcohol delivery for your own Garden of Eden!

Salt Spring Wild Bitter Orange Rosemary Cider, 7% ABV, 750 ml

And now for something completely different. Spicy notes mixed with spring berries and subtle orange yield a bitter tang on the palette for a dry finish. Salt Spring has thrown in some local rosemary to the mix and made this is something to try for an elevated cider experience.

For the Wine Connoisseurs:

Quail’s Gate Chardonnay, 13% ABV, 750 ml

Warmer weather calls for lighter, breezier tipples. This particular chardonnay should feature on your list for your next Vancouver wine delivery. Why? Subtle notes of butterscotch and citrus and even brighter notes of stone fruits elevate this luscious yet zesty white to new heights.

Gassier Sables D’Azur Rosé, 13% ABV, 750 ml

This stunning and shapely bottle of pink is representative of an outstanding rosé. Pale pink with notes of strawberry, pomegranate, thyme and floral rose petals exceed expectations. A salty undertone is what makes this rosé a winner for our money, perfectly paired with sweeter concoctions. Isn’t this what spring is all about?

Monasterio De Las Vinas Gran Reserva, 13.5% ABV, 750 ml

Just because it’s spring doesn’t mean you have to forego your love for red wine! This gorgeous and stylish Spanish red is the perfect accompaniment to your first steaks on the BBQ this season. Dark, dense, and appropriately delicious. Aged for 5 years to perfection. Olé!

Changing up your drinks edit not only means you expand your palate and discover new potential favourites, but it somehow also signals that change is afoot. Everyone likes to see the trees budding, the grass growing, and flowers bloom. Switching up what you drink is like packing up the winter wardrobe for your lighter garb in readiness for the warm and fun to come.
