Newdale Malt Barley was harvested by a team of Percheron draft horses at the 24-2 farm in Lacombe.
It was malted at Red Shed Malting where they made a custom brown malt.
This release was aged in old Basil Hayden bourbon barrels for some oak and char with a blend of a couple of custom Brett strains for Escarpment.
It spent about a year in barrels gathering character and becoming a more refined, distinguished ale.
After barrel-aging it expresses oak, funk and a hint of acid.
